Question Sad attempt at air pump bypass....

Its been awhile since its been somewhat decent out side so I did some more work on my new 1993 f150 and found this....after a few mins of trying to figure out why there's garden hose under the hood, I realized the 5.0ls headers are not equipped for the air pump So I got some garden hose rigged up pumping air out to the radiator support... every repair on this truck so far leads me to believe the last Owner might be a touch mentally challenged or something because there's not way someone can be this dumb...

My question is how can I disable the air pump? or re attach it to the system to make it function properly once more? the garden hose under the hood might kill the resale value

The smog ports are on the back of the head on the 5.0.

Ok so he just detached them then. thats good then, however I dont think the garden hose will be good enough for the smog system. im guessing something like heater hose would be the correct hose to use?

Some garden hoses are braided like heater hose.

got a good point there However i do not think this hose is going to be good enough to take the heat under the hood, its already kinked and melted in a few spots.

Ok i see it now, the guy just left the old hose and metal pipe right there hanging.. so i guess it was sucking up all sorts of dirt and dust...I re attached the proper hose and ditched the gardeners quick fix. the funny thing is throttle response and power came back to the engine which is a good thing!.

Now all i need to do is figure out which hose goes to the canister. thats located on the passenger side next to the folders can lol it seems that its sucking in air for the smog pump. and again just sucking up dirt...

The canister is the intake filter.

I figured its a filter of sorts just wondering if theres another hose that attaches there for the 5.0s or not.

LOL huh thats a great place for it i guess. I Don't think there's any hoses that i can tell from internet pictures. I was a bit surprized at how much preformance was gained by re attaching it back up properly though
