Default Regear on a 1994 F-150?

I have a 1994 F-150 4x4 with the 302 V8. I ordered a small lift kit in the mail (3 inches) and I plan on getting larger tires shortly after, (33-35inches) I'm trying to keep this as cheap as I can, but I am reading about having to re-gear the axles after adding bigger tires. I read about Ford's a axle codes, mine is 19 which means no limited slip differential, and the gear number is 3.55, I don't know what the number means though, is it a higher gear the lower the number? My question is, would I be ok without the re-gear?

with 3.55s you can do 33s fine, unless you got alot of steep hills or haul/pull alot. if you got 35" tires id suggest 4.10s.

my f150 with stock tires and 3.55s got 15-19, so i guess thats a base number.

with 33s and 3.55s id imagine a 2-3 mpg drop across the board.

Ok, that's not as bad as I would have thought, how slow will I be? I know the taller gearing will hurt my low end torque at the wheels
