Hi everyone. I picked up a 96 f150 xlt a few days ago. Overall it's in pretty good shape. 4x4. Off road package (whatever that means). 169000 miles. It have brand new power steering box but is really whinny. Needs new front fenders and a gauge bezel. The po cracked it when he removed it to replace a bulb. Fires right up and seems to run really well. Needs new front tires. I am not sure if Ill just buy 4 new tires... Larger ones. Could use a new front and rear bumper. I'd also like to do something with the bed since I use it for work when needed.

Coming from a place where vehicles never get rusty, I couldn't stand it. However I do have a huge dent under my passenger side rear window and pretty bad ones on both sides of my bed, it seems to be an equal trade off. I guess my main thing is if I can fix it (body-wise) without having to buy anything new, Id much rather do that. And no bondo or any fillers for me. How much if you don't mind.

It's probably the power steering pump that whines. There is a write-up on here somewhere by Sean that tells you how to replace it with a quiet one from a van.

Yeah the ones from a Econoline van (forgot what years) are a different brand, and don't whine hardly at all.
