Used truck prices where I live
Just some thoughts about prices on these trucks. I keep reading posts from you all about buying them for $2-3,000 in great condition. Around here, that buys you a "parts truck"!
I was looking on craigslist yesterday, and anything even close to fair condition was $3-5g at least. One add for a 90 (or 91) f250 was priced at $12,500...only a little rust. Nothing special at all. It was just an old truck that needed some body work and paint.
Anything under $3000, in my experience, is going to be a complete rust bucket. So, any of you guys wanting to sell your truck, just post in central or western West Virginia area and you can get two or three times as much as it's worth.

I`ll sell you my truck for 2500 come get it. Most trucks on C-list are over priced. I got mine for $450.00 but needed some work on it. I got a total of about $1100 including the $450.00. There`s so many trucks up here and if you wait long enough you`ll find one that needs a little work on it and get it for a good price. Most people don`t want to work on them or get tried of working on them. As soon as my 150 sells I`ll look for a f250 grandma truck.

You can find em pretty cheap in my neck of the woods. I gave $1800 for mine with just wheel well rust and a motor with only 116000 when I got it. Had rebuilt tranny. Runs great

There's a small used car lot near me that has an early 90's F250. It's std with I6...4wd. Bed rusted out and the entire truck looked like someone literally took a hammer to it. Interior was trashed. It had $2,900 on the windshield. I laughed at the price, but stopped by one day just to look at it. That's when I saw the word "Down" just below the price. They actually wanted $2,900 down payment for a $900 truck.
It's not just vehicles, though. Guns, tools, electronics cost more than brand new items at the local pawn shops. This is a poor area. Most people live off welfare, disability, and the local favorite, frivolous lawsuits. Pill heads and meth addicts rob you blind every chance they get. I should probably move south!
