89 F150 Lariat Revival
so back in 07 some poor, but otherwise extremely well loved 89 F150 Lariat was loaded on a Uhaul tow dolly without having its drive shaft disconnected, the unaware owner unloaded it in gallup new mexico so as not to have too drive a big uhaul around town. well, unfortunately for him, he found out that not pulling the drive shaft was a big boo boo, and had AAA come and get the vehicle for storage.
My family owns a tow company, we ended up towing the truck to our yard for storage, despite the guys promise that he'd be back in 2 weeks, the truck sat derelict in a back corner of the lot. Till the need arised for me to have a 1/2 ton truck, noticed this rather clean f150 sitting in the back
dug it out, bought a new transmission
started working on it
I've had it running, found the spare key in one of those hide-a-key boxes underneath the bed
It sounds Fantastic!
dropped the old transmission out today, will put the new one in tomorrow!

My truck shifts extremely smooth with Valvoline Maxlife ATF. I tried Supertech D/M ATF and Accel D/M ATF and had nothing but problems. Maxlife gave the truck a whole different personality. I hear that Castrol High Mileage ATF works well in our trucks too. The main thing is avoid the off brand stuff if you can and you should be ok.

Just call me sean. Really
So the owner never came back for truck... How are you going to be able to get a title for it? I'm curious about that, because with the work you're putting into her, it would be a shame to not be able to drive it on the roads!

My 300 is a bit of a dog unfortunately. Hopefully I'll fix that with a 3.55 rear end that's waiting for me at the junkyard when I gather up the time, money and energy to rip it out of some poor old truck
