Is there anyway to verify that this is a rear main leak? Looking at the valve covers, there is a bunch of crud around the gaskets, like they may be leaking, or at one time were definitely leaking. I'm having a hard time trying to trace a "stream" of oil from the VCs to the bellhousing though. I bought some new valve cover gaskets, and once I get time, I'm going to remove the upper intake, clean that area around the engine, and replace the VC gaskets.

The fact that I haven't run the truck in 4 days, and it is still leaking (it's a pretty slow leak, maybe 4-5 drops per day). Does that tell me anything?

Thanks!
