Rear end and ID tags
I have an 8.8 rear end and I am wanting to beef it up and I need to know the ratio the ID tag says: s808d 3 55 88 8m22: so does that mean it has a 3.55 ratio?

i need a set of gears, i've got 3.55 limited slip in mine, but the spider gears are goin out or something and it doesn't work at all. i'm not sure what gears i need to go with, 4.88s or 4.56's
If you are going to be driving mostly under 55 mph those gear will get you there pretty quick, but not much more for extended periods of time. A 4.88 ratio with a 30 inch tire and 1:1 gear ratio would have the engine turning at 3800 rpms at 70 mph...Exxon would love you.
