Default Rear end and ID tags

I have an 8.8 rear end and I am wanting to beef it up and I need to know the ratio the ID tag says: s808d 3 55 88 8m22: so does that mean it has a 3.55 ratio?

I envy all you people who's tags haven't rusted to the point of not even having numbers anymore

When you start making that big of a jump - you might need to check to see if you can still run the same housing with those ratios.

If you are going to be driving mostly under 55 mph those gear will get you there pretty quick, but not much more for extended periods of time. A 4.88 ratio with a 30 inch tire and 1:1 gear ratio would have the engine turning at 3800 rpms at 70 mph...Exxon would love you.
