Rear brake lock-up
#12
Same thing happens on my 89 F150 after sitting for a bit on a rainy day. 2-4 times, then it's fine. Same thing used to happen on a Dodge truck I owned. Checked both thoroughly, no explanation.

Its sounding like a more common thing. For me it might be due to the heavy winter this year up north. I bought the truck last spring and this is its first winter. (It was a southern truck prior.) I will just have to remember before hitting the breaks on rainy mornings.

My 97 does it and my dads 98 does it. If you look at the rotors/interior of drums the morning after a humid or rainy night you can see a light coating of rust (normal) and i think the first time you brake the extra friction between the pads and the rotors/drums causes them to lock up. The rotors just dont rotate smoothly between the pads. Completely normal, especially in trucks (light in rear) with rear drum brakes.
