Default (read)Hear me out!!!Bought some Boyd wheels 5x135mm can i make them fit my 92' F150

I recently bought some Boyd wheels...i love how they look and with a sweet as polish they are going to stand out!!

my problem is i bought them and they are not 5x5.5 or 5x139.7...they are 5x135 bolt pattern...

ive been doing my research and they turned out to be off a 2001 Ford F150 as i was told by the guy who sold them to me..now i found out that the...Second Generation Lightning wheels are the same bold pattern as my Boyd wheels...

Research indicates that a lot of 1st gen lightnings have the 2nd gen lightning wheels...and that if i drill the lug holes to 11/16" and use 1/2 lugs with washers i can make the 2nd gen lightning wheels fit my truck..

so my thoughts were that if the 2nd gen lightning wheels are the same as the Boyd wheels that i bought i could do the same to them...drill them and use the lugs and make them fit my truck!

on a side note..my 1992 f150 has 2001 Navigator rims and i just noticed and found out that the navi rims are also 5x135mm....how did they get them on there?? i dont know as to i purchased the truck like that...

can anyone please school me or tell me im wrong or give me the news that i want to hear?? Yes u can do that..

thanks!

Take one of your Navigator wheels off and compare the Boyd to it. See if the stud holes have been tampered with or whatnot. It seems to me if the Navigator rims are the same pattern as the Boyds and there has been no mod made to the Navi rim then the Boyds should bolt right up too. There is no telling what the PO did to your truck before you got it.

I'd see if the po drilled the navi wheels or if they put different spindles on. May be as simple as bolting them on. Or you might have to drill them. I'd make sure they won't fit first though.

#1. Sell the wrong rims and buy ones that do fit.

#2. Have a rim shop professionally redrill the rims to fit. They have to be perfect or you will have problems.

#3. Get custom drilled rotors, axleshafts and drums so the rims will bolt on.

got to take a wheel off and see what exactly was going on with my navi rims...found out that..not sure but pretty close to it..they drill or shaved just enough of the lug holes to be able to fit some type of spacer or something like it..hammered into the lug holes to make them into a 5x5.5 lug pattern then used the 1/2" lug nuts..they seem pretty dam sturdy...and ive been driving it around with my bed filled to the top of the camper shell...here are some pics..let me know what you guys think.

now with my rim on the lugs...i can make them stay on..not all the way but im sure that i can make them fit if i shave just slightly..i think.

now the navi rims on..so you guys can see the lugs

let me know what you guys think..Thanks!
