Default Radiator recommendations.

1990 F150 / I6-300 / 4x4 / Manual T / No AC

My radiator is leaking so it's time to replace it. Should I go with a one or two core? Any recommendations on brand and where to purchase it? Also, is there anything unusual about doing the install?

Thanks!

Really any single core radiator will make the 300 happy. I got a good aluminum single from the JY and have had it in for over a year now.

I see yours is a MT and no AC:
I agree with Andrew315 That a single row will be fine for the I6 - from the factory my 91 5.8 had a single row - when I replaced it up did upgrade it to a double row - and had to do a bit of trimming and fitting on the fan shroud to get it to fit OK.

In the "How Did You Hear About Us?" box - it is good til 12/29/13!

Or search the following on Ebay:
Vista Pro 432184
Spectra CU1452

Depending on where you live one might be cheaper than the other - I bought a vista pro for my 91 off ebay....
Either way you should be able to get a new one delivered to your door for less than $100.00 -
They should all have the Automatic transmission cooler in the driver's side tank that you won't need - I had a friend up in Illinois that also had a STD Trans and he ran hoses for his windshield washer fluid through the trans cooler to heat it - did a hell of a job peeling ice / bugs off the windshield!

The shroud is different for the thicker radiator. I went to the junkyard for everything.

Default Radiator Install

I'm guessing an install on a Vista Pro or Spectra radiator is pretty straightforward, just a few bolts and hoses?

Yes it is. Shouldn't be more than an hour for everything.
