Default Push bar mod build

Since im on my phone and dont know how to right between pics im gonna have to make a new post per step. This is what i started with a push bar with the bottom tube crushed and piece of angle iron thats a lot stronger than the tube that i ripped off an old grain silo sitting it the scrap pile.

Next i used the plasma cutter and cut the bottom tube out.

Then i grinded it smooth from what the plasma cutter didnt get and cleaned it all up.

Next i cut the angle iron down to length and cleaned up the edges but couldnt grind in smooth enough or it wouldnt fit right from me cutting it crooked with plasma cutter.

Next i tried fitting it in 2 different ways

First i fit it so it would be flat in the front and on top. Didnt look bad and it would be easier to mount lights that way

Second was to have it so the edge sticked out in the front. Liked it better but harder to mount lights so ill have to make my own brackets cause im doing it this way.

Next is to weld it. I havent done it yet and i got a lot of other things to do to it but thats as far as i am for today.

Definitely a good choice doing the angle iron at a point like that, looks good!

You needed to slow down on some of those welds but most of them look pretty good. I would have put the angle iron in differently so that you could drill holes and install lights but if your not putting lights on, this will look good.

Thanks i know slow its just i shake when i do things slow it would have probly looked a little worse. I do plan on putting lights but im gonna cut a couple little pieces and weld them on back so its flat and drill holes for the light fixtures.

I shake too too, especially with a weave pattern like mine when I'm stick welding. I hold my wrist with the other hand and have my elbows resting on my hips or a table.

Yes i like to hold it with 2 hands and have my arms resting on something. In boces i always sit on the welder when i weld. The only pattern im good at is just circles.

Now i welded on the bottom brace and the little tabs for mounting the lights. Came out pretty good. I just got to do the paint find some lights off junk tractors and mount it.

Looking good bro. Cant wait to see it on your truck. I also agree that having the point in the angle iron facing out looks better. Looking forward to more pics.
