Default Engine swap

I'm looking around at new engines but a lot of the nice set ups are carbed. But my truck is an EFI... What should I know before I decide on something? Like is it possible to go from EFI to carb. Ect!

You can go from EFI to carbed engines. From what I know its easier to go from EFI to carbed than vise versa.

As of right now I have a 302 but its has 150,000 miles so it's on it's way I know the 302 was the engine never meant to die but I want something with a little more beef and better torque and horse power
I was looking at this ford 393 flat top http://www.coasthigh.com/product-p/10682-sf-f393w-v.htm

OK so i see your here to waste our time. so yeah go ahead and put your $9k 11.80:1 comp motor in your street truck. and dont try to come back with a rebuttal about you know what your doing and you wanna drag race this truck, i've been a mechanic all my life blah blah blah,

IF you dont know how to swap a chassis over to carb from efi then your just dreaming about that engine.

Haha go big or go home huh? Let me know when you're coming I'll just save time and pull over and save you gas. Are you racing this thing? I would say thats a bit more than " a little more beef and horsepower" badass motor tho good luck with that

Noo I don't plan on racing my truck but I want power when I need it and I'm big in to off roading and thats a good amount of power and it's not a astronomical price for an engine still cheaper to buy that then spend 20 grand on up on a new truck. so I figured put 10 grand into a new motor into a truck I love a lot, and hell it would be nice to go down to the track in a big dumpy looking truck and smoke all the people in they're little rice burners.

Well first I don't want to drag my truck...
Second I never claimed to be a mechanic all my life because if I was I wouldn't have asked this question..
Thirdly if I'm wasting you're time then why did you bother commenting on the thread.

I don't think you get where he's coming from... he raises a valid point that if you were legitimately considering putting in that 9000 dollar race motor, you should already have the experience / knowledge to do an EFI to carb swap... otherwise it's kind of a waste. I would call that 393 waayyyy overkill in your truck. Then again, personally, I'd like to put a mercedes 3 liter turbo diesel I5 in my truck... that's just me though
