Default Power Steering reservoir leak

On the power steering pump reservoir, there is a small leak around the o-ring on the port (where the high pressure hose attaches) that screws into the reservoir. Can this part just be unscrewed to replace the o-ring or does the whole thing need rebuilt? Hoping for the former. Thanks.

Yes, and many reman PS pumps are supplied w/o reservoir.

But a much-better fix is to replace the original C2 pump & its mounting bracket with the Saginaw from an E-series with the same engine. Read this & the NEXT several captions:

Thanks Steve! I have read about the Saginaw swap too and I am interested in doing that at some point. For now, though, I will just order the seals and replace them.

Do it - best modification I have EVER done to my truck, and it remains so to this day. Still using the JY pump too,
