So, today my amp gauge started intermittently fluctuating/surging really bad. I took the alternator off and had it bench tested at advance auto. It tested good. I've checked the connections and wires and they all look good. It mainly did it when the truck was hotter, so could

It should end with "so could the rectifier be going bad & messing up when it's hot, or is my gauge just messed up? Theories?

I'll get is checked if it starts doing it again. My local Ford genius thinks it could be a loose connection on my cluster making the needle bounce.

I'm gonna go after payday to look for one...hopefully. Got a ton of other things that I need to do to the truck before winter. Having enough juice to run lights & heater will be nice though since the truck has never ran both well.
