Default The Plan. Opinions ?

So a few of you might have read my post about the 95 XLT I bought and was kind of having an issue about taking apart.
Well. I really wanted the box for my truck because mine isn't quite perfect. But the truck was so clean I hated the idea of taking it apart.
And then I found the receipt buried among the pile of them for the 2800.00 transmission rebuild (Canadian, including taxes) from 18 months ago, and it's the same as my transmission. And 800.00 worth of brakes all around 2 weeks before the motor went sideways - pretty much clinched it.
So the cab and doors headed off on the weekend to be incorporated into a frame off restoration of a short box 4x4 on 40's.
Kept the cab and fenders and related bits for mine (and the tranny - that's tucked away for when my other motor is finished).
So here's the plan : This is my truck-

95 F150 regular Cab longbox. 2WD on 31's

And here's the box and fenders - couple touches of surface rust at the very bottom edges from paint peel - otherwise mint and original.

95 F150 regular cab longbox. 2WD on 235's

My first thought was to paint the box to match the truck. My second thought was to paint the part of the door and cab to match the box and fenders and swap the box and fenders on. Both trucks are the exact same colours, just the silver stripe's in a different spot.
So that's the plan. I'll still have mostly original factory paint other than the bottom 2/3's of the doors. And I kind of like the colour scheme I have now, but I think I might like the other one better.
So whadda youse guys think ?

Not a bad plan so basically taking 2 trucks apart to make a really nice one and a not so nice multi colored one?

1 really nice truck and sell the extra parts so it doesn't cost me anything.
And all those extra parts I sell off will help other people make their trucks a little better too.
That second thought helps ease my conscience ....

I still don't get why you didn't just put your engine in that truck? Either way, sounds like it's gonna be nice and affordable, both good things.

I guess you'd have to see my truck in person. And then start crawling around and looking at things. Then you'd understand.
