I know you feel stupid, but you'll get over it eventually.

First off I know this thread is old but, I needed the help when I found it. The easiest way I found was to tap it then run a 1" bolt in to it and us a nut on this end to pull it out. Just for anyone else in the future.

Yep. Old thread, hehe. But I don't see anyone using the easiest, quickest method I know of.

Find something that just barely fits in the hole. Last time, I think I used the round end of a 6" socket extension. The 3/8" worked almost perfectly, but you can look around in your tool box for something. I packed the female end of the extension with bearing grease. Packed the pilot bearing with grease. Inserted end of the extension and hit with a hammer. You may have to pack more grease in as the bearing is pushed out. It should pop out as pressure builds up behind it.

Yea that didn't work for me. I also don't see how you can thread a pilot bearing, the bearing keeps spinning. Bushing yes but not a bearing.

I ended up taking a chip out of the part that the flywheel bolts to on the inside behind pilot bearing. Do you guys think I'll be ok it being so close to the center of rotation 9r is it going to hop and wobble a lot

That's the crankshaft, and it should be fine. They're not perfectly balanced anyways.
