Default Rear end differential swap

I have 1990 f150 stick shift and it has the 5.0 engine and i want to go from drum breaks to disk breaks and i read on this forum about swapping the hole differential, ill like to know if some one can help me find out what deferential might work from another car or truck thanks

If you don't know, you will need to change the master cylinder. You may also need to change the brake booster and add a bias valve.
There may also be a conversion kit available.

A lot of trouble for something been working for years I think the only reason factory did it was weight vs mpg cause good drums will work fine

You might be better off with a kit instead of swapping in an unknown axle.

You might be able to use the existing master, but you will need the proper proportioning valve. Rear calipers don't use as much fluid as the front ones, so the master may have enough capacity. Call the manufacturer of the kit to find out for sure.

No, I'm "keeping" that ratio, when I change the axle (again). The truck was built that way, and I like it that way, so even though I've swapped in a 3.55 axle before, I've always gone back to the stock RAR.
