Okay so I'm looking for a cheap truck to drive in snow and haul stuff and drive in bad weather and was wondering what you all think. The lady said it needs a cluster front seats tailgate and grille/headlights. It turns over and almost starts but has something wrong with the oil filter. I think she means the oil cooler but that just screams $500 or so in my head. http://indianapolis.craigslist.org/cto/5577094883.html

I could see buying it as a parts car for about half of what she is asking.

but not fixing it? Haha. There's a bunch of them being parted out around here. I could get seats and stuff easily just not a tailgate.. They are impossible to find.

You could fix it.
Other than the cluster issue, the peeling grille, dented bumper and the fact that it won't start, you're going to need the proper door.
That's a power door truck with an earlier model (note the mirror) manual door swapped on to it.
Hopefully they didn't chop the wires when they removed the original door - but they probably did, which means you need the door and the power harness and you'll have to pull the dash to change it; right now the passenger window won't work.
Or you could find another manual setup for the pass. side ....
If it runs, you don't know if it shifts and and and you get the idea. You might get lucky, but ...
It would be a project.
If you bothered with it, I wouldn't pay more than 500

yeah I noticed that. And that'd bug the ever living crap out of me. And she's parting it out. So hopefully no one else takes crap off of it. I've seen literally 3 flaresides in my life and none have been supercabs. I've always wanted a 9th gen and a 10th gen ( I already have a 10th gen now ) but the supercrew bed is too short for me most of the time.

Anyway it sounds like it's not getting enough fuel to me. Like a weak fuel pump. She said the switch for the tanks is gone so you can't switch it over. So it's going to have to be towed. I've thought about a car hauler and having a hand winch ( I can't rent a trailer with a winch because they don't even rent them! ) then tow it back and push it off. Haha

If the dual tank switch isn't plugged in, the truck won't start - no power to the fuel pump.
