"Ol' Red" '93 F-150 Build Thread
I've been lurking around here for a while now, and I figured I'd finally make an official build thread. I'm currently undergoing an automatic to ZF5 swap, and a solid axle swap on my 93 F-150. But first, a little background info. 1993 F-150 XLT, 5.0, E4OD, 4" lift, 33's, ARB air lockers, and 210,000 hard miles
So I am right in the middle of swaping in a solid Dana 44 front, ZF5, and a rebuilt 302. I know, a lot of work to do all at the same time Currently the motor, trans, and front axle are all removed. No pictures at the moment, but I will have some up as soon as possible

broke white boy
that truck isnt worth doing all that work too. i would just sell off all the parts and make a little money.
I CALL DIBS ON THE SMALL BLOCK FZ5 LOL
i'm just playing, looks like your going the right direction with every thing. and your one lucky SOB having a zf5 in the small block pattern.
one thing though. your going to have to get 4 inch lift springs for a 78-79 f150. the TTb springs will work but the ride is very very rough and the flex is bad. the spring rate on them is masive compared to a soild axles spring rate.
i cant tell by the pics but do you have blocks or springs in the rear??
if your blocked you should look into a shackle flip kit for the rear.

Yeah, i know im gonna have to do something about the springs. I'm planning on welding the front part of the solid axle radius arms on my Superlift tubular radius arms, so that is also gonna complicate things as well because that changes the lower spring mount.
And yeah, it is the stock springs with blocks in the rear, I know I'm gonna have to change that too.
And yeah, I got very lucky when I found a small block ZF5. I got the whole parts truck for $1500, so I also have a D60 front and 10.25 rear. I'm sure I can find a use for those too...

I finally got the time to make my radius arms. So what I ended up doing was cutting the end off of the old style radius arms and welding them onto my Superlift tubular radius arms. That way I could retain the factory wedges on the axle and I also retain the factory lower coil spring mount. Then I finished them up with a few coats of bedliner
