91 5.0 Blown head gasket
Hey guys, I blew the drivers side head gasket on my 1991 5.0. The engine over heated and before I could do anything the engine was blowing water out the back. If anyone has any tips before I try to replace the gasket or if you think it isn't the gasket, any info would be appreciated.

Check to make sure there is NO coolant contamination in the engine oil. Get a good quality gasket, and use a set of arp head studs, as they distribute torque load more evenly across the head.

Don't forget to drain all fluids too. Coolant shouldn't b an issue to drain since it drained it by itself but drain the oil too. Also wouldn't hurt to get your heads checked out and take some pictures

you have to check why it over heated too. if not its its just going to keep happening.
check your coolant system raditor, thermastat, cap, fan ?
could be anything at this point.
when it over heated did you turn it off and let it cool ?
did it red line on the temp gage ?
because if you didnt let it cool before starting again or put water in it while hot
thats a bad thing. could of missed up one of your heads.
