oil pressure/ oil problem help!!!
my truck (1992 f150 302 4x4) just crapped on me while driving to school its been a reliable truck but when i hopped off the express way the oil pressure just dropped and started acting funny and then the vavles started clicking so i shut it off in a gas station parking lot, i need some ideas as to what happened, i checked the oil and there is NONE!!, i know it leaked some but i always kept up on it, and it all just like disappeared in my 20 mile trip, i will fill it up after class and see what that brings i will watch for leaks and will change the filter yadayada, but im clueless as to were it all went???btw a chevy owner friend came and got me for class kms

Open your radiator cap and tell me what you see...

Inspect the engine for leaks. It might be easier to refill it with oil and let it idle for a couple of minutes. Fresh oil tracks should appear on the block or on the ground.

Also if you have the funds. When u lift the motor to change the oil pan gasket. It's a good time then to get a new Oil Pump and throw it in there. Then you don't have to lift it twice if u ever have problems down the road.

While it's possible to do the oil pan gasket with the engine in the truck, if I had to do it over again I'd just go the rest of the way and pull it out. You're relatively close by the time it's lifted high enough to make the job possible.
