No start after replacing fuel pump

No start after replacing fuel pump
i replaced the fuel pump, eec relay, fuel pump relay, then i checked the voltage and it isn't getting power to the relay. any ideas as to how to get power to the pumps again?

What Year is your truck?
Have you reset the Inertia Switch?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Did you have a bad fuel pump to start with?
or
Did you have a "no start problem" and you replaced the fuel pump, relays and the engine still won't start?
Just trying to see how the engine has been running before the fuel pump was replaced.

its a 1989 and the inertia switch is good.i replaced the fuel pump because i thought the fuel pump wasn't good. after it didn't start after replacing the fuel pump i found out no power to the relay

Okay, remember ALL electrical power for the pumps must go through this Inertia Switch and as long as you pressed the reset button on the top of the switch to complete the circuit; well, that is about all you can do... cause it's rare for one to actually go bad unless it got wet...
One more thing, the ECU / EEC / Computer controls everything including the fuel pumps...
How was the engine running RIGHT before quitting?
Was the engine sputtering?
or
Was the engine running smooth and just quit?

No power at the eec relay or pump relay? If you have no voltage on the yellow wire going to the pump relay check the fuse link that is at the starter solenoid it’s the W link

What kind of voltage if any do you have at the inertia? It will just have it for a few seconds when you first turn the key on unless you jump out the test port or the pump relay plug.

As stated earlier - check the fusible link for the fuel pump - near the solenoid, yellow wire, labeled with a W. If you have a volt meter with sharp tips on it, spear the wire before and after that link - I'll be you have voltage in front of it.

just a tip...if you replace the fuel pump, you might consider replacing the fuel filter as well just so the pump gets minimal resistance from a clean filter. It will lengthen the life of the new pump...when you get it running.
did you disconnect the battery BEFORE you put in the new pump...if not, UGH. disconnect the battery, switch to the second tank(if you have one), then try to start the truck...after it's running switch back to the tank with the new pump. If you don't have a second tank, just disconnect for 10+ mins, reconnect, then try to restart.
There is a Fuel pump fuse under the hood, and I believe a second in the dash panel...Check both.
