Default A nice beater truck

these are my favorite year of trucks and i really want one to take in the mountains and hunting. I dont want a real nice one but i dont want a piece of junk either. Im looking at lifting it and putting 35"s on there also. How much should i pay for one and what would be too many miles. Looking at regular cabs mainly

I'd say 92-96 would be awesome, all the engines are pretty solid. For a beater I'd pay around $500-$1000. Depends how much of a beater you want.

Mine is a bit rusty and faded but not a beater it runs better than my dads 2003 taurus. It's made multiple trips to Texas and back with no problem. Plus it's got a tough as nails 300 l6 in it. And it's a 1992

I bought this 93 4x4 auto with the 300 i6. For 300 bucks and sold the topper for 180$. It runs and drives awesome and the 4x4 works flawlessly! I just picked up a 6" pro comp lift a month ago and will be installing it and 35" tires in the spring. Also regearing to 4.56 gears.

Good luck on your hunt for your truck! You picked a great platform!

if you get anything make sure it is an 300 i6. best motor for theses trucks and will last the longest.

Yep. I'd agree. Either the 300 or the 351.
I'm just a huge 351 fan though

Absolutely nothing wrong with them at all. I love em to. Im just a 351 fan before a 5.0 fan :p

The 302's can make crazy good power for pretty cheap. Tons of aftermarket etc.

I have had a 92 f150 with a 302 and a 95 f150 with a 351and now this 93 f150 with the 300 and there all great motors and all have there strong points! I really dont care what motor the truck has when I look at buying one of these trucks because there all great and reliable engines!
