Default New owner of F150 with some questions.

Ok just bought a 1994 f150 with a straight 6, 5 speed and 2.73 rear ends. Got it for $600. https://i.imgur.com/w2Tty7Y.jpg

The shifter wobbles almost as much side to side when in gear as when out of gear. How would I fix this?

It is missing at least the following. What year models are compatible?
Rear bumper
Hitch.
Front fuel tank. (I may ignore this.)
Windshield. (Not missing just cracked)
Most of the seat bolts. (Do I need anything fancy?)

It had a missing freeze plug on the back of the motor just above the transmission. I replaced it with a rubber one although I know thats not the best. How much am I probably looking at to have somebody do it for me? I don't feel like pulling the motor myself.

I was told the a/c worked. well it does not. I can see the compressor kick on for about half a second and the turn back off for 20 second before repeating. Just low on freon or something else?

What tune up things should I do/check?

92-96 will work, windshield should be anything from 80-96.
Most of the seat bolts. (Do I need anything fancy?)
Grade 8 from the hardware store

Mine did the same thing, recharged it and it's been blowing ice cold air for the past 2 summers. Make sure you check the seals for leaks and use refrigerant that has the oil in it.

A basic list of things that I did:

Plugs/Wires/Belt/Idler pulley/tensionor pulley/Cap/Rotor/Ignition Coil

Replaced inner/outer wheel bearings on both sides, along with brake shoes/pads/drums/rotors

New fluids: Oil, PS, Brake, Clutch, etc... Be sure to flush your cooling system (prestone flush kit $4 @ walmart is a huge time saver and stays in for ever), use a chem flush ($4 for prestone chem flush @ walmart), also disconnect the heater core from the WP and flush/backflush through both hoses.

*Get a 120ct assortment of fuses and just replace all of them ($8 on ebay, $12 on rockauto) way cheaper than buying 5-packs at auto store.

*Clean up any body grounds you can find, sand frame/eyelet, wire brush the bolt, put it back and then coat with dielectric grease to prevent corrosion.

*Clean up all of the electrical connectors with quick drying electronic clean, spray male end and use a brush to clean contacts, then respray both ends and insert the male end multiple times into the female end to clean the female contacts. Coat the seal area with dielectric grease to prevent corrosion.

*Replace small diameter vacuum lines (I used these http://www.siliconeintakes.com/silic...686d47fdf65361, 22ft of 4mm hose)

*these will save some major headaches down the road by being proactive.

80 to 96 will work for the bumper and hitch. Also the windshield, but just shop around glass places. Around here I can get a brand new one installed for $200. The price is different if it's not insurance.
I'd go to a wreckers for the seat bolts, just cause you don't have to bother with figuring out thread sizes. If they charge you anything at all for them, it would only be a couple bucks.

Sorry for the long delay on the reply. Life has been hectic. Looked at the seats a little further and found that the reason behind having no bolts in them was because the seats were not for this truck. So I am gonna replace the unknown buckets with a bench seat. Found a nice on at the junkyard from a 91 F150. Should it fit?

Gonna replace spark plugs and wires this week. Probably cap and rotor as well. Anything I need to watch out for as far as brands or types?

Gonna try and get a bumper as well from the junkyard but tools may be an issue. Saw a nice heavy duty bumper off a 1983 that I want.

As for the fuses if I replace them I might as well replace them with the ones that light up when they blow and i don't see those in bulk. Oh well.

These engines run best with plain copper motorcraft or autolite plugs. Also, make sure to get a cap and rotor with brass contacts.

Probably a stupid question but if they reach could I use these wires? They were bought for a 1996 4 cylinder ranger I never fixed the head gasket on. The wires are still new in the box.

Probably won't plug in properly to your cap, other than that, no reason not to.
But you'd be better off with custom fit wires for your motor.

Um... also there is only 4 plug wires (one ign coil also) and you need 6 (and one ign coil).
