Looks good. Some of our inspection places are getting strict and starting to pop people with aftermarket HID's and clear lenses (as are the police). If the headlight housing doesn't have DOT or the factory mark "FORD" stamped on the lenses, they'll fail you under DOT Regulations. HID's are totally illegal unless the vehicle came from the factory with them. I did find a set of clear housings a while back with a U.S. DOT stamp on them from Japan, Lol.

Yeah, I don't want anything drawing an extra eye to me. Not that I'm doing anything illegal, but the occasional speeding on top of running HID's would be enough to **** off my insurance agent. Most people don't consider how bad aftermarket HID's blind on coming traffic. Our headlight housing are not designed for that amount of light and can't be aimed properly. I'm not sure which law DOT is writing tickets on, the Federal Code or our state code that went into effect last year. I think the Federal ticket is double the state. I've been told, but don't know if it's true, that chauffeur and cdl licenses were fined at a higher level than if you held a regular license. I've been behaving so I don't find out.

Dodge+Ford = always ready
i still love how iv never been flashed with my HIDs. i guess if you have bad eyes or something you might not like them. HIDs dont bother me as much as normal lights, they dont seem to glare as much as stocks.

It's not the glare for me, it's the flat out blinding light. My deal is this, I drive an ambulance for a living in a very rural area. Round a curve and encounter a light bright enough that you lose the edge of the road or the center line. Run off the road or hit the other driver head on and kill your mom, dad, son, daughter who's in the back (hypothetical). I'm glad that DOT and some local cops are finally writing tickets with hefty fines for non-factory HID's. If they were perfectly functional with an aftermarket factory approved lenses, then I'm sure they'd be allot better. Nobody is making an HID approved lens for our generation trucks, that I'm aware of. I don't want to fire up an argument, I just hope people understand the danger to other motorists and to themselves. If you have enough headlight adjustment to aim them low and center, then they are not too bad. Most people want them to be aimed high and at both sides of the road rather than low/center.
HID's are the one thing that we do to our trucks that directly effect other people and HID users don't realize that or don't care about how they effect other drivers. By the way, I scream at the cops all the time about their blinding blue lights. Maybe I am getting old, but I'm not alone out there, otherwise the aftermarket HID's wouldn't be illegal.
Okay, off my soap box. Sorry to rant.
