The 2 prong temperature sensor is for the computer. Fixing it will help the truck run much better.

I figured as much, it prolly doesn't know it is warmed up. I have not been able to afford it yet.

Put the temp sensor in today, then loaded it up with a couple wheelers, family of 5 and both tanks full and went to my dads. Lotta canyons, lotta pulls and I got 200 miles on the rear tank. How you think that is?

the play in steering is just age and wear on the PWR steering system. once i installed my new pump and gears the wheel tightened back up.

200 miles on the rear tank? That's probably as good as you can expect.

Sounds like decent MPGs for the weight and terrain.

Well good I'm glad I am getting somewere. As far as the steering wheel, there is no play in the steering, just were the steering wheel mounts is all.

The wheel itself? Where it bolts to the column?

I had an old car like that before, and it ended up being the nut that hold the wheel on - the wheel and column had teeth that engaged when it was put on, then the nut kept everything there.

I assume these are the same way, but have never had the wheel off of mine. You might pull the center of the wheel to see what's in there - if that nut is loose, it might be like my old car was - the teeth chewed each other up and I had to replace all that stuff to get the wheel to stay tight.

Or someone replaced the fuel pump and pinched the feed line. It's easy to do and the service manual warns you about it. Mine was like that when I got it. Couldn't accelerate onto the highway on the rear tank, but it drove around town fine.

Some updates....took the truck for a 1k mile round trip getaway at the dunes. Truck ran great, got around 220 miles per tank fully loaded up, and I mean fully loaded. It was a little odd getting there it wouldn't go much past 70 mph, the way back cruised at 80 no problem. Same load and everything.

Today I hit up a junkyard and got the steering colum. I ended up just swapping them out. I did have to tranfer a couple parts over as it was a 95 with air bag. But it is perfect now. Cruise and horn work flawlessly too!

I still have not been able to get the drivers door switch to make the cab light to work. I got another switch so I know it isn't that. I have no buzzer either, ever. Tomorrow I am hoping to get the new water pump on and fuel filter.
