Remember the hose has holes from that string they use to hang it on the wall, about a half inch down the hose. Could be coming from that.

Hey all, I think I fixed it...talk about a newbie mistake: I forgot to burp the air out of the system, so I had WAYY too much coolant and a bunch of air, which built up more pressure than normal. Fortunately I didn't run it very long like that. I did go ahead and add a second clamp to the lower hose, but I also ran it for a while with the cap off, and had to use a turkey baster to remove excess coolant a couple times so it didn't overflow. I drove it around yesterday and it seems to be good, may leak just a little bit still but everything else leaks on this truck so I'm not too surprised. Thanks for your suggestions!

Still - you shouldn't have any leaks from a new hose.

Did you tighten the hose clamp using a screwdriver? If so, get a small socket and wrench for that nut and really torque down on it. I tried tightening mine with a screwdriver and kept getting a slow leak. I thought I tightened it as far as it would go, but until I put the socket and wrench on it, I got several more twists and never had a problem afterward...and that's been two years now :-)

I'm thinking the leak may have been coming from the weep hole in the bottom of the water pump or something...not sure. I did get the clamps as tight as possible using whatever tools I could fit in there...
