Default New 6.2 in 96 Ford

I know this is "F150" forum, but its close enough. So how hard do yall think it would be to put a new 6.2 from a 2013 f250 into a 96 f250?

I just want to start by saying that doubt anyone has done a swap like this, so you're going to be doing a lot of trial and error for sure. Trial and error usually means you need deep pockets for custom work.. That being said, you will have to think about the following:

-The newer motor isn't going to bolt straight in. Meaning custom fabricated motor mounts. Also, not sure about weight difference, but newer vehicles come with so many accessories, and plastic, and other items that add weight. This might affect suspension concerns?
- The newer motor isn't going to bolt to your 96 transmission. You would need the transmission from the new truck, which would mean you need some custom fabricated transmission mounts.
-New transmission would mean custom driveshaft(s), and possibly axles?
-Electrical. All wiring would need to be taken care of. New vehicles have tight tolerances as far as a lot of its electrical equipment and sensors. Get your wire strippers and electrical tape ready.

Those are my main concerns with this type of swap. I'm sure it's not impossible, but Like I said, you are likely going to need deep pockets for a something like this. If you do pull the trigger on this project, keep us updated with any questions and progress you have. I'm definitely interested. I personally wouldn't mind seeing the 2.7L EcoBoost motor in my old truck.

I think that would be a great project if you could make it happen. However, if you just want a bigger motor, an older big block would be a lot easier swap. IMO.

All of the welding, cutting, and fabrication would be the easier part. The hard part would be all of the wiring and electronics. Would be a ton of work but it would be one of a kind, that's for sure!

Great points. The reason for the new engine is more power. I can get way more power out of a new 6.2 as opposed to the 7.5. But I'll look into that option too based on price haha

I've read through some coyote swaps and it doesn't seem too bad, but I need more torque...

Then do 5.0 with Turbo or Supercharger. If you have money, 3.5 ecoboost swap?
