Need suggestions, temporary tank bypass
I need to block off my front tank temporarily. It doesn't work and the fuel is being pumped into it. I've got practically no money so I can't afford the pump right now. I actually have to use the fuel in the tank so I can go to work tomorrow. Truck was down while I was at the other job but I'm returning to my old job and just got called in. Right now I'm pulling the transmission so I can warranty the clutch, then I'll be dropping the tank to see what I can do with it. If you're familiar with what's up there give me some suggestions as to how I can cap off the lines without any damage. I'll be putting in the pump as soon as I can afford it.
Yes, I have never removed either of my tanks yet.

I just take a piece of round stock or saw the thread off of a bolt remove the line from the the pump and plug it unles you have those quick conecters then you will have to cut the hose with the conecter leave enough on each end so you can splice it back together or if its just a short term deal clamp a pair ov vice grips on it

Not to sure on this just an idea coming off the top of my head could you take an old fuel filter that has the quick connections put one end in the line and crimp the opposite end or use a piece of hose a clamp and a bolt on the end of the old filter i don't know if it will work I've never tried it like I said earlier just an idea on off top of my head.

i read the other night that you could get little check valves to put in line to keep this from happening when your sending units decide to **** out. you might look around in a junk yard. the post said quite a few trucks had them put on as part of a recall from ford because of this problem.

Sean A lot of people are cutting the tubes off of a old pump and brazing them up and plugging them in the fuel lines so they can run the truck till they can replace the pump.
Also the inline check should work if you can come up with one.
