Post My truck progress

i found my truck in the want ads. the guy who was selling it put it in there that the truck was the perfect truck for a teenagers first vehicle. he stated that it was a 5.0, 4X4, manual locking hubs, a 5 speed, and had a straight axle up front. the only thing is it needed a water pump, he had the water pump you just had to put it on. that was it. so to me it sounded good and i bought it. when i got it towed home, and started messing around with it i found there was some broken bolts in the timing chain cover. so when we tried to get them out we found out the timing chain cover <--[people have different names for this but this is what i've always called it) was busted. so i had to buy that. while i was waiting for the part to be shipped i found out the power window in the right door was out so i had to replace that. when we got the old timing chain off we found out the oil pan gasket was ripped. so i have to take the oil pan off and replace the gasket. (its a full gasket not a multipiece). im now working on raising the engine to get the oil pan out. when i get it off ill finally be in the process of putting it back together. ill have another post of the progress in a couple of days.

At least you are able to do your own work, that'll save you a few bucks.

Good luck with the repairs!

Welcome aboard. Atleast now you know I little more about it and can feel a little a better about the things you've done to it. Never know what you're going to fine with a truck to old but it you're up to it you'll have her purring like a kitten soon. Post some pic when your done.
