Default My new project

Well... after driving my red truck for about 2 years, and then driving my moms 5 speed mustang for a week, I really want to start changing gears again everyday... at least for a while. So Ive decided to start a poor man fix up on my old truck and start driving it to school, it can be my little beater.

heres what i have to start with... 89' F150 4.9l I6 regular cab 2wd 5spd...

and heres what I want to do...
*repaint roof, hood with gloss black to match
*remove side trim
*paint the middle area with gray, idk yet, maybe just primer for now
*put a new headunit in, this one is shot
*tint rear brake lights, corners
*wet sand and buff all the existing black paint
*some exhaust work, maybe a straight pipe w/ cats
*possibly later on bed armor the bottom black part
*maybe paint the wheels

here is kind of an idea what I want it to look like...

Its just goin to be rattle canned, hence the poor boy fix up, Any other cheap ideas I can do? Or any advice yall can give me on these trucks would be appreciated. I pretty much dont know a thing about these years of trucks

dont rattle can the truck it will be far more expensive than just rolling it on, a quart of paint is 8 bucks and u can do the whole truck with two. And dont try and just paint the one area, even though its black it is usually very hard to blend colors, since u are going to paint the middle section as well might not be a bad idea to redue the whole truck

Yea now I'm thinking about repainting the whole top black part instead of just the roof and hood. And I have a spray gun so that's probably the route I'll go. Then paint the middle silver and possibly bed armor the bottom. I also think I'll put a burgundy pinstripe between the black and silver. Hopefully it'll look good.

Got a battery yesterday and drove it some today, also hooked up my headunit, but it don't play music?? Maybe the speakers are blown
