Default my 88

Just got an 88 F-150 for pretty much free. The truck overall is in pretty decent shape but needs some TLC. After looking at the forum I have a couple of random questions. First, have any of you swapped the fenders, headlights and grill from the 88 truck to the earlier 90's models? Also where can a person track down a grill guard for these trucks?

Thats a pretty damn good lookin truck for what its. id leave it the way it is. you would never be able to get paint to match the rest of the truck unless you paint the whole truck. and its not really that hard to change those front clips. its just time consuming. and as far as a grill guard or brush guard it wont be that hard to find one. get on craigslist and search in your area under auto parts. they shouldnt be that much.

This thread won't answer all of your questions, but I asked the same thing about converting the front end to an earlier model.

Check it out here.

Ive considered the front end swap too. But I think its more expensive and time consuming than its worth to me but who knows down the road.. And yeah countryboy is right.. Itll be a pain to get the paint to match unless you have the whole truck repainted

I would prob paint the whole truck if I did it but I'm starting to lean toward just leaving it. The man that owned the truck kept it in a garage so the paint actually looks brand new. I just need to wash it. I've had a lot of cars/trucks but I have to say this old beater has to be one of the most fun things I've had. Thats saying a lot since I've owned a mustang gt convertable and an Infiniti G35 coupe
