Question My 1989 f-150 will not turn over

To bring you the reader up to speed. I have a 1989 F-150 4x4 straight six, that has been sitting up for six years. I'm at a point in my life that i need to get rid of a few toys. I placed a new battery on the truck and it would not turn over. I replaced the solenoid (located on the fender) and still it will not turn over. I checked the EEC and Fuel pump relay with a multi meter insuring that everything tested good. See below its a good instructional to help in debugging.

I know I will have to replace the fuel pump on the driver side frame, It will click but you don't hear it run. Its probably gummed up or locked up. I also checked the fuel pump cut off switch ( it appears not to have been tripped)

The only way that the truck will turn over is to jump the solenoid. which it acts like it want to run but I've got to replace that fuel pump.

This still leaves me at a total lost as to why I've got to use a jumper instead of the key.

What I'm needing is where to check next, because i am truly confused and baffled.

With a test light check little wire on solenoid and if nothing then ignition switch on lower steering. Clutch switch if standard or neutral safety switch if automatic.

Ive got 10 volts from the small wire, and I can turn the motor over by crossing the big post or crossing the small post and big post

Take off the cover where the steering column meets the dash, turn the key all the way and try pushing that rod down with a pair of pliers. You can see the paint missing I've been starting my truck this way for years. Only takes two screws, worth a shot to try.

If you're getting power to the little wire on the solenoid when you turn the key, The solenoid is probably junk. New doesn't mean much anymore.

Chris, Correct me if I'm wrong but the voltage tells the starting solenoid to turn over the starter solenoid on the starter below. Almost got tongue tied.

Below is how my truck going to look if I dont get it fixed LOL
