dont have the money right now for an exhaust system but i was thinking about doing away with that idea and just going with an aftermarket muffler. do you guys think i can get even similar sound without the tubing?

 

if you want loud and cheep, get a glasspack, or a peice of tubing insted of a muffler.

 

just get the muffler cut out (bout $30 at your local exhaust shop) or keep saving for flowmasters

 

A peice of 2.5 by 24 inch pipe is about 9 bucks, and clamps are about 1.50 a peice.
