how do i lift the engine? Hoist or floor jack? I have a floor jack but not a hoist.

Is this something that one person can do?

you can lift the motor with a floor jack. I recoomend putting a block under it when u got it in the air just in case of a mishap.

Yes one person can do it, But using an engine hoist is allot easier, you can rent them for pretty cheap. Lifting it with a floor jack tho is a bit trickier. If you lift it underneath you're gonna need to disperse the weight. I can tell you how to do it but i really don't recommend it unless you feel 100% comfortable

These are my 4.9 mounts, old and new:

Floor jack and a block of wood across the oil pan.

Sean...did you see my pics? I can just jack up my motor ( block under oil pan) an inch or so and replace both of them? That sounds easy.

It's pretty strong. It does have to withstand reasonable impacts from road obstacles.
