Default making true duals a single again

My 95 F150 with the 5.8 has growled long enough. Currently it has true duals but they have begun to rot off.
As I age and become more practical I find myself less interested in the rumble and more excited to keep a few bucks in my pocket.

Anyone think I am crazy?

I heard once:
"If it's too loud... You're too old"
Perhaps you're finding some truth to this

Nope, it happens. I straight piped everything I owned back when I rented an apartment and didn't give a damn. Now that I live in a nice quiet neighborhood...... Not so much, I find myself thinking about others and putting a sensible exhaust on, I'm not old (only 28).

Just this weekend we pulled the section of straight pipe an reinstalled the muffler. 95 4.9. It's the kids truck I told them they might get couple mpg better. They were all for it. Not sure if I lied or not but was sick of the farm tractor sound!

I just talked to the guy at the muffler shop. He assures me that going single will be much cheaper. As long as I still have enough power to haul the horse trailer I think I will be happy with no rumble.

Its nice to be able to order at a drive through without having to turn off the engine.

Brought the truck home tonight after the new exhaust work.It is a lot quieter in the cab now. I can hear talk radio type of quiet.
It still has a nice note out of the tail pipe, but that loud bark that I had grown to love has been tamed.
Everything will be good in the end. I saved a lot of cash!

Set yourself up a 3" single exhaust with a commercial grade muffler on it. You'll still have good flow, but it'll be silent.
