Well, quit thinking about buying parts and do an error code scan. If the engine falters while the BAT light flickers, it implies a poor connection somewhere or the alternator diodes are failing. Idle faltering at idle when EVP sensor unpluged dosn't particularly mean anything w/o a code. Maybe the EGR is hanging from contamination buildup or EGR valve diaphram leak in reference to your driveability issues. See what happens when you disconnect the wires to the MAP Sensor!!! Anything you do should be w/ engine at normal operating temp. to have much merit.

Mine's hanging on the back firewall, on the passenger side, to the right of the A/C evaporative core housing. Engine at norm. op. temp. Remove the wire connection, not the Vac hose. If no change in Idle/ drivability behavior, it implies that it's pooched. An error code scan takes a lot of the guessing out of it. The MAP looks like this: http://fordfuelinjection.com/?p=27
