Default MAF conversion part collection help

Just for clarification I have a 1994 4.9l M5OD OBD-I...

the 1994 and 1995 California 4.9l's supposedly ran OBD-I with the MAF system.

I was wondering where or what to look for to find a pre-1996 MAF ECU on OBD-I so I can start getting my parts together for this MAF conversion.

My plan is to run an overlay harness with a Cali '94 or '95 EEC-IV ECU so I can convert to MAF and don't have to run all new wires in the cab and junk for OBD-II to convert to MAF.

Thanks

Honestly, I believe I've see quite a few on ebay for sale.

You might want to check out oldfuelinjection.com to find out which ECUs work with your setup.

'95 California was MAF, not '94. I imagine it would be pretty hard to find a computer for one.

Yea but do they have any in stock? They don't even have all the common computers.

no they are special order parts, to many variations for a company to keep them on hand, but i've ordered stuff like that from autozone before and there is about a three day turn around when ordering parts.

Computers are different. If they can't get any to recondition they don't have any to sell.

The last time I was at the wrecking yard I saw 3 or 4 M AF systems fully intact. They were all on the v8's though. There is a wrecking yard in my area that always seems to have a good supply of our model trucks.

Is there a way I could run a '96 OBD-II computer without having to reharness the entire truck? It seems near impossibly to get a cali '95... and like I said I just wanted to run an overlay harness to minimize the amount of wire swapping...

That's because V8s got MAF earlier than the 4.9.

No. Yes it's the impossible task.
