Default Is the M5OD R2 gear whine usually caused by input shaft bearing?

What usually causes the M5 transmissions to whine in 1,2,3,5? Is it the input shaft bearing. My input shaft was a little wobbly before it went in but I don't know how much play is acceptable. Also, if that is the case, does replacement require tearing into the transmission?

I m going to state the obvious, make sure there is oil in it.
How much wobble is a little?
I have been told that the whine i had was the input bearing, but i don t know, it never got any worse, so i never fixed it.

That trans has tapered bearings in it so it needs some preload. Theres a procedure to figure it out but you have to be able to measure surfaces on the trans. It shouldn't wobble...at all. Atleast from what I read when I rebuilt mine. Google rebuild m5r2 and you should find a site that tells how to rebuild one for a t-bird, same trans just a diff style shifter.
