Default lowered guys look in

I am lowered 4/6 and I am having some pinion angle issues. It was off by 4 degrees with just the 3/5 it was off.

My question is if anyone else who is lowered ran to the same problems. If you had to shim it what shims did you use?

For some reason it just doesn't seem right needing to shim. I have never heard of having to do it to these trucks before

hey man sorry i havent been on here in a while, but mine is a 3/5 and i have no problem with my pinion angle the only other thing i did was and m50d swap with the stock driveshaft and the 5 speed is like 2 or 3 inches shorter than the aod which might have helped me out a little bit. ive read in a couple of threads on here that there shouldnt be a problem with the 3/5 maybe that extra inch up front messed things up? by the way what did u do to lower it that extra inch? drop coils?

ahh... I did discover some new info today. I was told the u-bolts, since they are re-used, could have lost their hold. I have lately been needing to re-torque them quite a bit. I also have a spring plate that is not thick enough for the required torque needed to tighten them enough without bending.

I did get under the truck today and did notice the pinion angle didnt look to bad.

How's it look to you? I havent got an angle gauge in there but it looks "ok" to me.

Hey, I believe I bought the lowering kit you had on your truck as well. The notch is NICE!!

Going to be working on that next week, just need to finish doing the saginaw steering swap. Are you bagging it all the way around and swapping out the i-beams?

Was browsing your build log, did you not use the u brackets that go into the spring perch for the flip kit? Curious how you got a block in there

You probably put the spring plate on wrong, seen that before. Turn it a quarter turn so the waves in the plate are opposite the springs and it won't bend.
