I've been thinking about doing this for my for exactly that reason. Miami in the summer, summer being more than 3/4s of the year and having traffic from HELL - it just seems like the way to go.

I will be doing it in spring. I bought the flexalite 295 fan kit. I did buy myself a Champion Cooling 4 core polished aluminum radiator (which I will NOT be using as this company has zero quality quality control which leaves me with a leaking paperweight) will be switching to a 2 core spectra radiator for a F-350 460 truck (for the time being). The electrical system on the older trucks what are not using a 3G large case alternator (130A+) is highly suggested to be upgraded before attempting an electric fan installation due to the increased electrical demand and risk of fire on a 2G type alternator. Battery cables and ground should be upgraded as well.

For EFI trucks, there is no need to swap thermostats, the factory 192 degree unit is needed to operate the EFI in closed loop. Keeping the engine in the high 190s to 205 degree is where the optimal efficiency is with the factory fuel injection.

Towing with Efans may be an issue as well for some.
