Default at a loss!!!

I have a 95 F150 reg cab, 2wd, 5.0 with about 170000 miles. Here's what I'm running into, at about 54-55-56 mph it dies- falls flat like it's starving for fuel- I let up on the gas pedal and it kick's back to life and run's fine. It will also do this at idle sitting still. I have replaced the tps- no help, the mass air- no help, even changed out the computer- no help, check engine will come on but it goes right back off. I have checked for shorted out wire's every where I can think of, nothing. When I plug in my scanner it lock's my scanner and I have to reboot the scanner, this isn't an autozone special scanner either lol. I am at a total loss, even the mechanic I use is at a loss. I checked the fuel pressure with gauge and it check's fine. Any one here got any suggestion's? This is my daily driver and this is getting really annoying lol. Thank's

did you change/clean you IAC vavle?
also how was the fuel pressure while driving? i had a pump going bad but it would only act up at 45-50 mph, it did progressively get worse but at first thats how it acted up.

I had a very similar issue. I cleaned the tps, iac, and other dusty parts. Seafoamed the vacuum lines. I am no mechanic or inclined. No stalling issues anymore.

Possible coil issue or wires going to coil?

Did you leave the fuel pressure gauge hooked up and replicate the problem or did you just check the pressure with it idling?

I'd start with getting that scanner operational and talking to your F150 module to get us some codes for openers. The 95 module is rather unsophisticated and generally works with most scanners. If all else fails, get it plugged into a Motorcraft IDS (dealership, shops).............I personally use it and never have a problem with any Ford vehicles.........

Can you pull the codes manually (with a jumper wire)? If not, I'd say you might wanna crack your EEC computer open and eyeball the circuit board. These computers are getting up there in age and some of them have an issue where the electrolytic capacitors leak the electrolyte onto the board. I think the computers with catch code A9L (should be a sticker on the side of it) have it the worst, but really it could happen to any old capacitor. It's free to take a look... I don't have a thread to point you to for pics or anything, but if you search over on ford-trucks.com you'll see some more info there too.

If the board ain't ate up and you know how to solder on a board, you could replace the capacitors.

Really sounds like a fuel issue. Let off the gas and it's good = load problem= fuel starving. Fuel filter-line-blockage-bad ground on pump-etc.

If it's not related to rpm's or load - just mph, could it possibly be a faulty speed sensor ? Just a thought, if all else fails. They're pretty cheap - I think like $20. It's the thing with a wire on top of your diff
