Default Looking to buy a clean 95

Hi guys, Nice boards you got here... I'm looking at a clean 95 4x4 with fairly low miles, One thing concerns me because i know nothing about 4wd.

When i was test driving it i stopped to engage the 4wd and when i went to lock the hubs one was already in the locked position and would not go back to free... It would move a little bit but that's it... I was able to engage 4H and 4L and everything seemed to work fine but i couldn't get the hub back to free mode... Could this be something serious or just disassembled cleaned/replaced ? Thanks in advance

Not sure about the 4wd question, but if that's a '95 where is the airbag? I'd check to see why they replaced the steering wheel.

Yep, that wheel's been replaced. They changed to a "4-spoke" wheel in 1994. That's not even the same wheel my '92 has.

I've seen that wheel on F150 Customs. It is like the base model stering wheel.

As for the red interior, I don't think it looks bad. So many cars and trucks have gray interiors.... mine included... it gets a little boring.

I found several pics online of a 95 with the same wheel ... Surely they weren't all replaced...

Huh, maybe they didn't install airbags on the base models. Didn't know it was optional in that year.

The hub's probably just in need of cleaning (disassemble/re-grease). If it runs good I wouldn't hesitate to buy that truck. Super clean.

That's what i was hoping, Ive asked several people and they have told me the same thing. The 460 in this truck runs strong as hell and only 70k on it.

With my trade i'm only going to be shelling out 2 grand, as far as the airbags, I don't know... It definitely does NOT have an airbag but the carfax came out clean ...

I was under the impression airbags were mandatory on passenger vehicles after 1992/93 ?

Either way it drives straight and there are no signs of previous repairs plus I'm not looking for a daily driver, just a toy to play with and something to pull my boat.

I guess my problem with ford interiors is that they just took one color and covered the whole inside of the truck with it, Be it red, blue, green, tan or whatever... It needs some contrast lol ... Thanks for the input guys !!
