Congrats on your purchase,
Thats a deal and a half..
I just added freon to my system, Sure is nice to have A/c.. I only use it in the rain so the windows don't fog up.. Rather have windows open..
My neighbor next store has a heat only truck, Will show him this thread. Maybe something he
would like to do as well..
Keep the pics coming
Can't wait to see your finished project..
Goodluck,
Ant...

Sean,
Forgot to mention.
If you have the 4.9L I6.. The belt I used is from napa & the part # is 25-060806.
I don't have an air pump in the truck but I do have A/C.. So if you have the same set up you can use the above part # to get your belt..

Hi Pavel, how are you?
So I worked on this some more today. I pulled the inner fender to have plenty of working room:
Of course there was some difficulty. Two bolts for the box were just turning so I had to rip it off, and here it is bare:
Here are the two boxes side by side:
After doctoring up the two messed up bolts I gave it a dry fit. Unfortunately my broken motor mounts had the engine in the way of the box, so I couldn't get it on. So off to the store to buy motor mounts, which I should have done first a very long time ago. This is how bad they were, exactly as removed. Not holding a damn thing the engine was just sitting there all crooked:
After changing those I put the box on, but had to take it back off as it wasn't sealing against the firewall. Everything seemed fine so I used silicone to seal it. And here it is installed and put back together mostly:
It all plugged in as it should, including the vacuum harness too.
So here's the problem I'm having with the belt. Because of the smog pump delete the belt routing isn't working out too well. This picture is with the belt ran in the non a/c direction (from crank to a/c):
As you can see the belt barely wraps the compressor pulley and I'm afraid it's going to slip when the a/c is on. For comparison here is the belt ran in the a/c direction (from water pump to a/c):
Unfortunately running the belt in the a/c direction without the smog pump runs the belt across the alternator bolt:
So right now my plan is to make a bracket for the alternator to push it out some so the belt will clear the bolt, and doing it this way will make the standard non a/c belt work for my a/c smog pump delete belt routing.
So right now the belt is ran as it was, not on the compressor yet. So although I haven't charged the system I have tested it and it is functioning as it should, meaning I jumped the pressure switch and the compressor clutch engaged. It seems the little blue light on the a/c button is burned out so I guess that's why it wasn't lighting up.

Lookin' good Sean. Is the junkyard system you bought already changed over to 134a? I thought i saw a can with that labeled on the pic of the 2 boxes side by side.
