Then really that would mean hidden under the truck, because that's the only place the factory puts them. One of those cable crank things would be an improvement for that. The Bronco mounting looks factory-ish, but you didn't like that either. I think mine is more military or outback style.

Anything that interferes with my ability to carry materials doesn't work for me.

Military?? Maybe 20 years ago.... and they do look good on a land rover style vehicle. But key word was "like" like it could come from the factory like that. I like my chrome grill front end and would never cover it up especially with a 33 inch tire
Also wouldn't that kinda restrict some airflow to the radiator and intake snorkel?

Well dude, the truck is 25 years old. That fits within your parameters. And some factories do put them there, like you mentioned. If the spare matched the rest of my rims it would look better, but I'm covering a black grill. Nothing to see there.

I don't really like my mounting location, but the stock carrier is awful on the sidewall. I like the look of the truck allot better with no spare visible. It gives the truck a lifted look with no spare hanging under the bed. The only thing better imo would be a single large fuel tank mounted to where you could have a recessed tire well in the bed like a car trunk. My luck though.....I'd have a bed full of gravel and a flat!

I have purchased many junkyard tires and I don't buy spares anymore no matter how nice the tread. Every one blows out soon after mounting where the brackets touch the sidewall. That's why I made my carrier so the sidewall doesn't touch anything.

everyone likes different mounting styles, thats why there is more then 1....

you can mount it literally anywhere you want if its out of your way, the hood, the tailgate, front bumper, side of the bed, under the toolbox, on the roof, or a chase rack.

i agree with Sean somewhat, i got a long bed because i needed the space, so im not really all for losing bed space with a spare, thats why ill either have a roof rack made or have a rack made thats somewhat like a headache rack that goes over the top of my toolbox about the height of the cab for me to bolt my tire too.
