silicon vacuum tube
1996 I6. Some soft vacuum fittings, not the tube but rubber connectors that fit on the nipples, need replacing. I can't find these rubber parts, esp larger sizes in 90 deg bends. I think I can make them with plastic tee and softer tubes, so I thought high temp silicon tube might work. Amazon has tubes and some are described as 3/8" inside size. But one review said it's not, that inside diameter was smaller than the description. So I'm wondering if the description means that the tube will stretch "up to" 3/8 or if that reviewer was wrong somehow, got the wrong size tube, etc. I want the silicon figuring it is softer so it will stretch more and is more of universal than rubber vacuum hose.
So anybody use the silicon tube and what is your experience buying it? Were the description exact? Which store? Thanks in advance.

You dont' have to use a 90 degree connector, I redid all my vacuum lines and I used the strait connectors for most of them and it worked just fine. The strait connectors were easier to work with and easier to get a hold of. The silicon tube works just fine. I think the lines are 1/8 diameter original.

I don't know if there's any difference but this 1996 has CA emissions. It is the black plastic pipe in the same holder as the egr valve hose. I had a length of vacuum or fuel hose so it is kind of looped in case of kinking, but thought all will be cleaner if I use the bend. I sent for the tubing so will find out if is true inside diameter.

Silicon is a black crystalline mineral; the tubing is siliconE rubber.

If the tube is kinking, it's not vacuum-rated (thick-wall). 3/32" ID tubing works well.
