Default Keep blowin fuse as soon as intouch the brake pedal

So my truck was stuck in park the other day, the fuse was blown, so I replaced it and as Soo as I touched the brake it blew again, so I bought a new brake light switch, but that dost solve the problem, I looked over my trailer harness wiring and that seems to be fine. Anyone have any thoughts? Thanks!!

Electrical problems are such a pain, pull out all the bulbs and inspect the sockets for moisture or corrosion, if I remember right, the brake light circuit runs thru the ignition switch and there are some threads floating around on how to check those.

If that doesn't help, P.M. me in the morning and tell you how to search for the short.

Well.....I may have found my problem, the ignition switch just went out on me yesterday. Maybe the lights were a sign of it going out earlier.

I think I found my problem, after changing the brake light switch, and testing the other switch on the master cylinder, and the trailer wiring plug, I believe the short is between brake light pigtail to the taillight themselves, because when I unplug my brake lights the short goes away, so Tom I need to pull out the wiring and look for the short, thanks for y'all's help and hopefully this will help some of y'all in the future.

The brake light signal goes through the turn signal (multi function) switch. Do the hazards work?

Yes the hazards still work, should they still work or are you getting at thatmy problem is probably not in the rear wiring?

Probably the wire from the brake switch to the turn signal switch. Otherwise the hazards would blow a fuse too.

My hazards do not work on my 87. So would that mean it is the multifunction switch?
