Default MIL Eliminators.

I've seen the concept tossed around on there before and it seems like a reasonable way to go for me. I have aftermarket downpipes on my truck (y-pipe if you will) and no cat. The bung for the oxygen sensor is way further up than the factory one so my oxygen sensor wires aren't long enough anyway. So would it make sense in this case, correct? I could trick the computer into thinking I have a working converter and it would lengthen the wires as much as I need it to.

I guess my question is, well, how do I go about making one? What gauge of wire, etc. If anyone happens to know part numbers for the resistors I would need that would help immensely as well.

When you say the o2 sensor bung is way further up are you sure you arent looking at the upstream bung instead of the down stream bung? You should have 2 sensors.

The upstream sensors are on the manifolds, the downstream WAS right behind the cat. On the new y-pipe it has a bung for the O2 sensor but it's a foot maybe a foot and a half farther up.

You could possibly try to open up the wire bundle and pull some more length out. Then just retape the bundle. As far as the mil eliminator goes you could get a set for a mustang, they should work fine and it give you an extra to keep. As far as how to make them yourself just do a search online. There are tons of tutorials out there that show how to make them. Some even give you the part numbers and the places to get them.

Not sure if I follow you. Your wires for upstream O2 sensors are too short for install and you have no cat. Why not lengthen the wires for the upstream sensors and use a spark non fouler (spacer) for the rear O2. This will shut the MIL off.

I wasn't sure if the same specs would work for any vehicle but I have seen some tutorials. And the upstream sensors are fine. I never removed them, I didn't change the manifolds. Only the downstream one is an issue, I have no cat and the wire is too short so I need to lengthen it. And what is a spark plug non fouler?

It's in the help! section of auto parts stores, it's basically a double threaded spacer. Screws in to hole then you screw (spark plug, o2, etc...) into it.

The non foulers come in packages of two, moving the rear O2 out of the exhaust stream will make computer read that cat is intact. One should work but if not they can be stacked.
