What yr.,engine, size coil, type plugs, which wires? Brass cap & rotor? What is your stock gap called for.

Did you seafoam the engine prior?

did you check for error codes & have pass codes on both KOEO & KOER? So no active codes & no continuous memory codes?

And checked for VAC leaks?

That was my first guess too. Pulling hills actually calls for a pretty big demand on the ignition system (AFAIK). That's where your torque comes in. I've noticed a rather large increase in my low end torque (hill pullin' ability) since doing all my ignition upgrades, however, it's been a learning curve. Not until recently have I gotten it "dialed in", and largly in part to the plug gap. I seem to recall few other members stating similar experiences with too small a gap as well.

Everything there looks good except for the wires. I'm NOT saying they are junk. They have a "fairly" low resistance at 500 ohms but, not near the MSD superconductors or Taylor Thunder....butts.. as Ymeski would say. Both of those wire sets come in at >50 ohms per foot. Getting that spark from the coil, to the cap and rotor and down to your plugs, could be the ***** in your armor. I'd back the gap down by .003 or .004 first and see if you regain any power. Or if your brave enough, side gap them at .052 and see how it goes.

I'm sure Ymeski will agree, getting your ignition system "dialed in" takes a little work.

Rest assured, you're already working with quality componets, now the trick is getting them to "play nice".

Gotta keep the resistance down when you're maxing out your gap! 50 ohms./ft compared to 500 ohms./ft ? Ten times the resistance. That can't be helping. You have a .044 ohm primary resistance coil. 500 ohm/ ft wires?

Your Stock gap is .044. So's mine. But I can run side gap at .056 because of less resistance on the way & a slightly bigger coil (60K volt /45 ohm).

Your spark kernel is being extinguished under load. Secondary air is blowing it out like a candle. Bring your Gap in .002.

thanks guys . grrrrrrrrrr been a rough week i already have 40 hours on the clock , and i finally got time to really look at my truck , checked all my plug wires cause they are a b-tch to push on and feel them snap... all where good , i pulled the cap looked at rotor and hell i even checked the firing order yup thats good ,,, i was going to reset timing and pulled the spout connector and thought lets see if i timed it right yup 14 degrees and i heard a arcing sound ,,, ok what is this k its dark looked around and saw bluest spark i ever seen below plug wire going to base of plug number 3 cylinder....
