intermittent no start
So I just got my 1985 f150 with a efi 5.0 back from my sister from lending it to her in August of 2012. It's been wrecked 3 times, the oil hasn't been changed, the alternator is only measuring 7.5 volts and then dieing, the heater core is pouring coolant and I hadn't been notified of any of it, until I got there to pick it up. I changed the oil and fuel filter, and put a new alternator and heater core in it, but it now also has a problem cold starting if you let it sit for a day or so. It turns over and doesn't act like it is getting any fuel, but it has spark. I can't seem to find the test port on the fuel rail, am I missing it? It will start if you spray some ether in the throttlebody and then it will start up fine for the rest of the day. It has no driveability problems, this leads me to believe that the problem lies in a sensor some where. I figure that their is a sensor causing the truck to try and lean start, but I'm not very familiar with this early speed density fuel injection, so I am just guessing. Any suggestions?
